Product Applications
  • Tytan™ TNBT is a very reactive primary titanate that will hydrolyse immediately in contact with moisture.
  • Tytan TNBT is mainly used as catalyst for esterification, trans-esterification and olefin polymerization.
  • Tytan™ TNBT is very suitable as an adhesion promoting and cross-linking agent for hydroxylic compounds or heat and corrosion resistant coatings.
  • Tytan™ TNBT can also be used as a moisture scavenger to prolong shelf life of moisture sensitive high viscosity products. Tytan™ TNBT can only be used as an additive to solvent based products.

Technical Details & Test Data

Preparation of Bis(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate various catalysts at 200°C

Raising the reaction temperature to 220°C increases the effectiveness of the titanates more than that of the acid catalysts. Figure 2 shows that the "cross-over point" for TYTAN TIPT and methane sulphonic and p-toluene sulphonic acids is at 40-65% conversion compared with 83-93% at 200°C.

Preparation of Diisononyl phthalate comprising acids at 150°C and TYTAN TNBT at 200°C
