- Biotrend® MB5 provides broad antimicrobial efficacy against bacteria, yeasts and fungi often effective where other preservatives fail. As a result of its’ excellent thermal, pH and chemical stability, Biotrend® MB5 provides longer-term protection compared to other chemistries that may deteriorate over time due to pH or temperature shifts during storage.
- Biotrend® MB5 prevents microbial deterioration of products and resulting consequences such as phase separation, odor build-up, gas buildup and changes in viscosity.
- Biotrend® MB5 penetrates the cells of microorganisms, reacts with vital parts of the cells and inactivates important substrates and enzymes necessary to normal cell function. These relatively unspecific reactions exhibit a bactericidal effect and minimize adaptation or the development of microbial resistance.

Biotrend® MB5 is highly suitable for the preservation of a wide variety of aqueous-based products due to its broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity and good thermal and chemical stability.
Biotrend® MB5 shows the highest efficacy in a wide pH range of pH 4 - 10 and is chemically stable from pH 2 - 12 and light stable. Experience shows that compatibility with most products and raw materials is excellent, although compatibility testing is recommended for specific formulations.

Store in the original, tightly closed containers, in well-ventilated, dry, dark and cool areas. Carefully reseal and keep containers upright. Protect from freezing. If frozen, allow to thaw and stir well before use.
